Correctional Service of Canada Shoulder Title

This large shoulder flash was introduced with the re-design of the Correctional officer uniform in 2005.  At that time, an initiative was undertaken to re-introduce a more authoritative pattern of uniform due, in part, to complaints received from staff in reference to the previous civilian uniform.  The new uniform more closely resembles that worn by other police agencies.  In keeping with the Federal Identification Program (FIP), the new insignia incorporates the Canada word-mark, the departmental title in both official languages as well as the CSC badge in full colour with gold metallic thread. The background is navy blue and the entire crest is bordered in gold thread binding. These flashes are worn on uniform shirts as well as on outerwear such as bomber jackets etc.  It continues in use today.
